Computers, self-check machine, a workstation for users with special needs and touchscreen tables.
Some computers are available in the Library rooms for consulting the main online catalogues and carrying out searches independently.
The workstations in the corridors, dedicated to searching the Library catalogues, are height-adjustable.
There is a self-service loan station at the Library entrance; if you are already registered, you can use it to record your loans. You will need your University badge, your Italian electronic identity card or your Italian health insurance card.
A dedicated workstation is available in the Library for users with special needs, accessible with University credentials.
The workstation has a 21.5” iMac and a flatbed scanner up to A3 size. The computer runs both Windows 10 and Mac OS X 10.11 (El Capitan), and you can choose which environment to use at start-up. Installed software includes MS Office 2016, OpenOffice 4, Adobe Acrobat Reader, the Firefox and Internet Explorer (Windows) / Safari (OS X) browsers, the Balabolka (Windows) / VoiceOver (OS X) text-to-speech tools. The scanner can be used only on Windows 10, and the ABBYY FineReader 12 is installed for OCR only on Windows 10.
To use the service, you need to make an appointment: you will find contact details at the bottom of this page.
We are setting up three stations for reading e-journals, located in the Aula Absidale.
