Publishing Open Access

The Library promotes the Open Access and Open Science movements with a view to free access to scientific knowledge.

To this end, it provides support to professors and researchers in using IRIS, the University official repository for research outputs.

The support service provided by the Library focuses on:

• meeting open-access mandate arising from participation in European and national funding programmes
• implementing University policies on Open Access
• providing information on discounts and agreements with publishers for publishing in open access in their journals
• validating IRIS records for research outputs by checking metadata and ensuring that attached documents comply with the Open Access mandate
• providing basic guidance on research data management in an Open Access environment
