Special collections

The Library’s holdings are enriched by a number of named collections, the result of donations and bequests from distinguished scholars.

Due to the Library’s temporary relocation, most named collections will not be available until we return to our main premises. 

The following are currently available for loan and/or reference: 

  • Bollettieri Bosinelli Collection 
  • Documentary materials from the Antonetti Collection (shelved under ANTON ARCH) 
  • Ravaglia Collection (at the site for Aerospace, Mechanical and Naval Engineering). 

Rosa Maria Bollettieri Bosinelli Collection

Donated to the Library by the daughter of Professor Rosa Maria Bollettieri Bosinelli, Professor of English at the former Advanced School of Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators, it comprises around 1,300 books, 450 DVDs, journals and offprints on cinema, translation and literature, with particular reference to James Joyce.

It also includes personal notes and working materials. Books and DVDs may be borrowed, while journals and offprints (shelved under BOLB ARCH) are for reference in the Library only.

Luciano Antonetti Collection

Donated to the Library by the journalist Luciano Antonetti, it comprises around 1,500 books, journals and offprints dealing mainly with the history of Czechoslovakia, the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic and the communist movement in Europe in the second half of the twentieth century and the early years of the twenty-first.

It also includes personal notes, typescripts of published and unpublished works, articles, correspondence, photographs, degree dissertations and a small collection of stamps, banknotes and coins (shelved under ANTON ARCH).

Lino Ravaglia Collection

Donated to the Library by the engineer Lino Ravaglia, it comprises around 130 books published between the 1950s and the early 2000s on aeronautical engineering, including aerodynamics, flight mechanics, aeronautical technology, design and construction, helicopters, propulsion, Aermacchi and aircraft.
The collection is held at the site of the Degree Programmes in Aerospace, Mechanical and Naval Engineering, Via Montaspro 97. For reference use and loans, please contact the site using the details provided on this page.
