Donations of library materials

Under the University Library System guidelines on donations and bequests, acceptance of material by the libraries is subject to the following: 

• the donation must be consistent with the criteria that guide the coherent and homogeneous development of the collections; 
• the bibliographic, cultural or antiquarian importance of the collection must be recognised; 
• the collection must be in a suitable state of preservation and capable of being maintained over the medium and long term; 
• the costs of processing and cataloguing the collection must be sustainable; 
• adequate space must be available.
